MUST READS: Thanksgiving Week.

One of my favorite things has to be reading. These days I barely have time to sit down and read the Times-- let alone a whole book, so I rely on online finds to satisfy my
"Poindexterish" needs. I'm always finding something on Refinery or in the NYT app that inspires me. I usually rush over to Twitter to share my "must reads", and I figured it'd be cool to condense them into a list that I could share. Read on below for some of my favorite articles along with commentary.

1. Coat Stalking! 15 Hot Coats, 15 Cool New Yorkers // http://www.refinery29.com/jackets

Sooo it's pretty much arctic in New York at the moment, which means that coats are a definite necessity. However, no one said the coat had to be completely boring. After reading another article from SwaggerNY.com on keeping it cool in the cold, I have been all about finding a coat that is anything but basic. I'm also a sucker for street style photos so this photoset is right up my alley.

I sporadically head over to Urban Outfitters blog, and in my latest visit I discovered their "UO Nice Lists" in which they quiz people on everything holiday (including how to make a classic eggnog, a question no one seems to know the answer to) as well as their personal holiday traditions. The first one I noticed featured Lyndsey Butler from Veda. Considering i've been obesessssed with Veda as of late, I loved seeing their founder in a completely different light. She along with the Girls from "Sh*t Girls Say" were exactly what I needed to get into the holiday spirit.

Hands down, the best thing about the holiday season in the city, has to be the holiday windows. Every year, since I was a kid, my mom made an effort to try and take me to see all of the windows on 5th Ave. I think the inspiration from the windows at Barneys and Bergdorfs has a lot to do with my love for fashion today. This year, T mag took pictures of all of the best holiday windows, so even if you can't make it in person, everyone can have a teensy bit of the NYC holiday experience.

To me, Supreme represents the ultimate brand in dope skatewear. I loved reading all about their history on Lafayette street in Soho, as well as James Jebbia's efforts to stay true to Supreme's roots. Definitely an interesting lesson on branding and not getting swept up in the hype.

5. 5 Stylish Small NYC Apartments with HUGE Inspiration // http://www.refinery29.com/ideas-for-small-space-living

I recently just signed the lease to my first apartment (reminder that I'm getting old!) and all I can think about is how I want to decorate and what I need yadda yadda yadda. In New York City, they say you can have two out of these three: space, location, price. While my space is ample, I sorta settled for the other two. These ideas of how to perfectly decorate a small space are just what I need to start making my apartment home.
